Application Guidelines

The College's Selected Works scheme helps RCA students, graduates and staff to commercially exploit their projects.

Under the scheme, the College covers the costs of legal fees arising from the protection of work, it may employ the designer on a part-time basis, and will assist in finding suitable commercial partners. Any profit arising from the commercial exploitation of the project will be shared between the designer and the College.

Eligibility

• Your project must be clearly patentable: original; commercial; inventive (in this case you should not have discussed your project with anyone outside of the College)
  or
• Your project must be design registrable

and

• You must be a registered student, graduate or staff member of the RCA
• If a student or staff member, you must have your Head of Department's agreement
• You must have a clear vision as to how your work can be developed and exploited and the enthusiasm and drive to pursue this
• You must have knowledge of the relevant market/s for your project

The annual call for applications happens in the Spring term.
