Group signing for Tongue Sucker licence

Wallace Cameron Group

The licence, signed between Wallace Cameron Group, the Royal College of Art and four Royal College of Art designers, is for the development and manufacture of Tongue Sucker. The designers are four industrial design engineers and graduates: Graeme Davies, Chris Huntley, Phil Greer and Lisa Stroux.

The designers developed Tongue Sucker while studying at the College. Tongue Sucker is a device to keep the airways of unconscious casualties open until paramedics arrive.

The design team received support for the development through the Audi Design Foundation and through the Royal College of Art's Selected Works programme. They were the recipients of a major Design for Life grant from the Audi Design Foundation to further Tongue Sucker's development and testing.

Tonge Sucker was also a major winner of the Index: Design to Improve Life Awards 2007.

The team of designers will work with Wallace Cameron on bringing this non-invasive airway device to market.
