The two-year fellowship was awarded to Adrian Westaway by the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851 to further his research and development of the control technology for Magic Light.
Adrian, who will continue to develop the Magic Light at the Royal College of Art, is only the second designer to recieve an 1851 Royal Commission Fellowship in Design. Adrian developed his patent-pending Magic Light while studying at the Royal College of Art. It is also an RCA Selected Work.
Magic Light control is a method for positioning and moving a beam of light by the user to where it is needed by simply grabbing and pulling the light beam with your hand.
